It started with a grocery bag.

We took our labs everywhere. Cole, Oliver and Ruby came with us from the Santa Barbara beaches to our cabin at Lake Arrowhead, and every trip we packed their food, bowls and toys into a grocery bag that broke or got chewed through before we arrived. There had to be a better solution.

So we made one. The Original Doggy Bag is built lab tough, with zippered closures to keep out curious noses, bowls sized for a real dog, and enough pockets for everything a dog needs for a weekend away. We made it for ourselves first. It turned out a lot of dog parents had been carrying a grocery bag too.

That one bag became a company. Susie founded Rubyloo in Santa Barbara, and a single travel bag is now a full line of water bottles, first aid kits, packable beds and travel gear. Rubyloo is a 100% women-owned US small business. We only make something if it solves a real problem we have run into ourselves, which is why every product carries a lifetime guarantee.

We named the company for Ruby, our rescued Red Fox Lab. Through our Every Dog Should Have a Home program, a portion of our profits and products goes to rescue partners who need the help.
